Hand Built Mugs - June 10th 2023
Come and build your own mugs from a slab of clay from 10am to 1230pm! Dhe'n Dor Pottery Studio is located at 64 Lent Road, Weymouth North, NS, B0W 3T0.
I will show you a demo of how a mug can be built from a slab of clay and then you are free to create your own mugs. Everyone gets a slab of clay to create at least two mugs. Use texture tools to create interest. Once the mugs are complete you can even use the left over clay to build a couple of extra items. The main aspect of this class is to have fun and play with clay.
After your items are made, you will get to choose from three glazes to have your items glazed once they have been fired (this is done a couple of weeks after the items have been made). It takes about two to three weeks from making your items for them to be ready and I will call or email you once they have been fired and are ready for pick up.
Wear clothes that you don't mind getting muddy. Avoid wearing rings or bracelets as they may get clay on them and may make building your items a bit more challenging.
There is maximum 6 people in a class. Plan to arrive about 10 minutes before the class starts so we can maximize the workshop time and no one has to rush.
